Romania's consulate in Castellon de la Plana verifies information on disappearance of five Romanians
The Romanian Consulate in Castellon de la Plana is verifying information on the disappearance of five Romanian citizens in the context of deadly floods in the region, having notified the Spanish authorities, Romania's Foreign Ministry (MAE) reported on Wednesday.
According to MAE, since the onset of these meteorological phenomena, officials of the the consulate have provided support in the relationship with the local authorities to the Romanian citizens who, through emergency telephone calls, have requested information and consular assistance. In its dialogue with the Romanian citizens, the consular officials underscored the need to comply with the instructions of the local authorities. So far, all Romanian citizens who called the emergency phone are out of harm's ways, according to MAE.
Also, the local authorities of the Valencian Community, respectively the Government Delegate in the Valencian Community and the Government Sub-Delegate in the Province of Valencia, were contacted to request notifications regarding the existence of possible Romanian citizens among the victims and people hit by the floods.
The Romanian Consulate in Castellon de la Plana is in permanent contact with the relevant authorities, being ready to provide consular assistance if the situation requires it.
At the same time, the consular office keeps in contact with the citizens who have signalled that they are in difficult situations, pending solutions ordered by the local authorities.
