Over 700 dentists participating in SRRO Congress in Iasi
Over 700 dentists are participating in the 16th edition of the Congress of the Romanian Society of Oral Rehabilitation (SRRO), which is taking place from November 7 to 9 at the Palace of Culture in Iasi.
The scientific event is held under the aegis of the "Grigore T. Popa" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi, in partnership with some of the most prestigious entities in European dental medicine.
"This new edition of the Congress of the Romanian Society of Oral Rehabilitation represents not only a continuation of the dedication of dental professionals to their noble profession but also a new challenge towards knowledge and continuing medical education, as well as a real opportunity for improvement and adaptation to the latest scientific discoveries in the area. Interactivity and exchange of experience are certainly solid arguments for advancing this new scientific event towards the progress of Romanian dentistry and, above all, for the benefit of patients," said Norina Forna, president of SRRO.
The Congress of the Romanian Society of Oral Rehabilitation will be held in a hybrid format, and the scientific programme will focus on both theoretical and practical topics that impact practitioners' preparation. It will also host 15 thematic lectures, oral communications, and special workshops that fit within the digital era, with multiple applications in contemporary dental medicine specialties, particularly in prosthetic treatment planning on both dental and implant-supported frameworks, as well as the comparison between classic treatments versus minimally invasive treatments using lasers in areas such as cariology, endodontics, periodontology, surgery, implantology, dento-somato-facial aesthetics, orthodontics, prosthetics, and digital technology in the creation of prostheses.
Additionally, the congress will present the results of new concepts based on scientific research developments in biodegradable materials, state-of-the-art techniques recently incorporated into preventive dental medicine, as well as the crucial role of current digital diagnostic imaging systems.
During the congress, participants will have the opportunity to attend plenary lectures delivered by renowned personalities in the area, who will address current topics regarding the state and future of digital practices in dentistry. This event promises to be a benchmark for the multidisciplinary community that constitutes the core of dental medicine.
According to the organisers, international speakers from the UK, Albania, the Republic of Moldova, along with Romanian speakers, will contribute their expertise to enhance Romanian medicine and dentistry, while also creating the necessary premises for fostering multi-centre and interdisciplinary collaborations.
"The Romanian Society of Oral Rehabilitation oversees a prestigious scientific journal (RJOR) indexed in international databases (ISI, Scopus, Doaj, Clarivate Analytics) that significantly contributes to the dissemination of the latest research and practices in the field. Being affiliated with prestigious international organisations, the Society thus strengthens its active role in the national scientific community and continually contributes to the advancement of excellence standards in the field of oral rehabilitation, which has been in a dynamic phase in recent years," said SRRO representatives.
The Romanian Society of Oral Rehabilitation is affiliated with the European Dental Association for Education, the Balkan Stomatology Association, the International Council of Francophone Dental Surgery Deans, and the European Prosthodontic Association.
